Mahalo to My Supporters

A warm hearted mahalo a nui loa to those of you from House District 8 who came out to Saturday’s primary election and voted for a better Maui. For all of you too numerous to name who worked so hard on this campaign, I am extremely humbled and honored by your faith, confidence and trust in me.

To those who let me hang signs on yours fences, gates, and walls; who let me pound signs into your ground, and the thousands of you who flashed your lights, tooted your horns, who yelled words of encouragement out your windows when I was sign waving in the mornings and afternoons, THANK YOU for those acts of acknowledgement and support; they just lifted me up.

While the voter turn out was low and the results not in my favor, a positive message of change was seen, heard and felt by many. I will be looking forward to the 2009 legislative session with a greater expectation than ever before. We all deserve honest and ethical representation and will hold our elected officials accountable for the decisions they make. I will continue to work to secure a brighter future for our people and our state, and am looking forward to running in the 2010 Primary Election once again. Again, thank you for making your voices heard and your votes count!
